John Humphrey, tenor ﷯ John Humphrey, tenor, is a native of Oakdale, MN. Establishing himself as a most sought after young talent, he has made professional operatic debuts with companies Minnesota Opera, Cedar Rapids Opera Theatre, Des Moines Metro Opera, Cincinnati Chamber Opera, and Cincinnati Opera. He made his main stage debut in The Merry Widow as Camille in February 2012 with CROT. Other roles include the Title Role in Candide summer 2011 with CROT, along with Ferrando (Così fan tutte), Alfred (Die Fledermaus), Title role (Albert Herring), Nanki-Poo (The Mikado) all with Simpson College. He has been the featured Tenor Soloist in Masterworks such the Liszt Mass and Mozart Requiem with The Fort Dodge Choral Society as well as Messiah and Carmina Burana with Simpson College. He received his Master’s Degree in Vocal Performance from University of Cincinnati-College Conservatory of Music while performing the roles of Camille (The Merry Widow), Mosquito (The Cunning Little Vixen) and Leicester (Maria Stuarda). This summer, he will perform the role of Fenton in Verdi’s comic opera, Falstaff, with the prestigious Martina Arroyo Foundation in New York City.
