Eileen Mackintosh, soprano


Eileen Mackintosh is a lifelong multi-faceted musician; singer, teacher, and conductor. Eileen possesses a shimmering and rich soprano voice that soars over an orchestra and has been hailed for her enchanting stage presence. Her reputation has been established not only for her superb musicianship and solid vocal technique but also for her collegial professionalism and generosity of spirit.


Recent singing performance highlights include the title role in Norma, Abigaille (Nabucco), Desdemona (Otello) Fiordiligi (Cosi fan tutte), Lady Macbeth (Macbeth), Aida (Aida), Frau Fluth (Merry Wives of Windsor) Hanna Glawari (Merry Widow) and Konstanze (Die Entfürung aus dem Serail). In 2013, Eileen made her debut with One World Symphony Orchestra in NY singing the Ophelia Lieder of Strauss. As a young artist, Ms. Mackintosh sang the Mozart roles of First Lady, Donna Elvira, And Marcellina. In January of 2016, she was the soprano soloist in the Requiem of Verdi with Mineola Choral Society on Long Island, NY.


Later this year, she will sing the soprano solo in a complete performance of Handel’s Messiah with the Delaware Valley Choral Society, and prepare choruses for Strauss’ Die Fledermaus and Bizet’s Carmen for the Delaware Valley Opera Company, a company with which she is also a principal singer. She will also be singing the role of Rosalinde in Die Fledermaus.


Equally passionate about teaching and conducting, Eileen had a successful 10 year teaching career and was the founder and conductor of the Middletown Chorale before becoming a full-time freelance musician. Currently, she maintains a full-time private voice studio, is the Chorus Master for the Delaware Valley Opera, holds the position of music director for the St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Middletown, NY, accompanies several school choral programs and is a frequent guest conductor for in-school workshops and regional choral music festivals.


Ms. Mackintosh earned her M.M. from the University of Connecticut with a concentration in Choral Conducting and B.M. in Music Education  from SUNY Fredonia majoring in piano and voice.
